With the days getting longer and the flowers starting to bloom, designer trunk shows are springing up everywhere! Here's a preview of just some of the amazing Monique Lhuillier gowns that will be in-store this weekend!

So what is a trunk show anyways?

If you are wondering what exactly a trunk show is, we have the answer for you! During the regular year, we carry an average of 12 gowns per designer's collection in store. During a trunk show, we are able to bring in the rest of the newest collection along with a selection of best-selling styles for our brides to try on. Attending a trunk show is a great way to get a good feel for a designer's style, and try on some gowns we don't usually carry. Bisou also provides light appies and cocktails for our guests to enjoy during their visit.

Our annual 'Evening of Oscar de la Renta' is definitely one of the events I most look forward to during the year. The almost 40 couture gowns arriving the days before is enough to make me swoon. Throw in a fabulous cocktail party, including a fashion show, our amazing Oscar representative from New York, and an unforgettable night of amazing food, fashion, and great people and I'm in heaven!

The whole evening centres around our fabulous brides and their loved ones, and of course Oscar de la Renta bridal couture!

I love Oscar de la Renta's gowns for their impeccable attention to fit and couture detailing.

And of course, who can forget his stunning statement-making accessories?

Bisou was completely adorned with gorgeous Oscar de la Renta gowns by the time guests began to arrive.

Our fabulous Oscar rep, Lauren Tirone, had flown in from New York City to help brides find their perfect Oscar dress. The amazing team at Opus Salon styled the models' hair and their makeup was done beautifully by Tarah Kostenko Makeup Artistry. 

Guests nibbled on gourmet hors d'oeuvres catered by Culinary Capers, while they milled around the room which had been accented with classic floral arrangements from Balconi Floral Design Studio.

Models showcased the gowns throughout the evening, and brides had a chance to request for their favourite Oscar gowns to be shown on the models.

And of course try on some of the gowns before the trunk show started!

The fantastic string trio was provided by Musical Occasions, and thrilled the audiences with their classical renditions of pop and rock songs such as 'Sweet Child of Mine'.

With a Holt Renfrew shoe wall, couture bridal fashion shows, and a guest appearance by Randy Fenoli (@randyfenoli),  Fashion Director at Kleinfeld's, I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be this Sunday! Bisou is thrilled to be a part of this year's Style & Strut bridal fashion event at the Sutton Place Hotel. 

I have to admit, I'm a bit of a Say Yes to the Dress fiend: my friends always bug me for spending all day with wedding dresses and then spending all night watching wedding dresses! I love Randy's commitment to helping all shapes and sizes of beautiful brides find their dream dress, and I especially love when dresses that Bisou also carries are on the show- it's always fun to watch different brides style their wedding dress in their own unique way!

Bisou will be presenting our couture fashion show at 12:30pm & 2:30pm at Style & Strut. We will be featuring our newest collection, Jenny Packham, along with some timeless favourites (Lazaro and Monique Lhuillier to name a few!) to show a range of flattering styles and shapes for any body type and any taste. 

One of my favourite new gowns in the show is Jenny Packham's 'Eden' gown. It's a stunning sheath gown with the most amazing, intricate beadwork scattered throughout. It's amazingly light and sexy, and clings in all the right places to emphasize any shape. The art-deco look of this gown is perfect for a vintage inspired intimate wedding, or for an elaborate and glamorous evening affair.

Spotted: Bridal Style at the 2012 Golden Globes

As a self-confessed evening-wear fashion junkie, it was a real treat watching the red carpet coverage of the 2012 Golden Globes! While there were many fabulous designs of note on the runway, a few looks definitely caught my eye.

Glee's Lea Michele turned heads in a stunning Marchesa gown.

We loved Debra Messing's striking pop of color against her black Monique Lhuillier gown.

Here at Bisou, we were especially thrilled to see how so many runway looks have been translated into haute couture bridal fashion by today's design elite. Take a look:

Designer Profile: Jenny Packham

Designer Jenny Packham  We are so excited to be introducing Jenny Packham to Vancouver brides. Her collections have been thrust into the media of late due to a very special Duchess of Cambridge choosing her designs. Catherine recently wore a stunning silver floor length one shoulder gown to a reception for the National Memorial Arboretum Appeal, held at St. James' Palace.

A few months ago, Natalie and Colleen went to New York on a buying trip to view the Spring 2012 Bridal collections; they wanted a collection that was unique, wearable and memorable.

Packham's Spring 2012 collection was inspired by a fusion of iridescence, butterflies, and the lights of the circus. Soft silhouettes and romantically sculpted corsetry is adorned with Swarovski jewels, and exquisite French lace.

These are just a few of the wonderful styles we will be carrying at Bisou Bridal.
